When I put in the terminal as root
the command, this apt-get update
appeared in an output line:
Des:5 http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu disco InRelease [15,4 kB]
Searching with my ignorance a little I found this page in English where apparently (with what little I understand) it informs me that when someone installed java on my computer they put this command:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu trusty main
My question is what does this command do?
As you can see in this answer from askubuntu, it
deb
is NOT a command , but it is the way in which a Debian repository is indicated in the file , that is, debian packages. As ubuntu uses debian packages by default instead of other types of packages, this may confuse you.
