I have come across the tag:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="ie=edge" />
I know that it is useful for compatibility, I have found this page: https://msdn.microsoft.com/es-ar/library/cc817574.aspx but I would like to know if someone can give me a little more information on how it works. Thank you
Compatibility View is a feature that was introduced in Internet Explorer 8, which allows the browser to display non-standards-compliant web pages as if they were running on earlier versions of IE.
How does compatibility view work?
The compatibility view allows the user or the browser to set the compatibility mode, by default the browser identifies the compatibility view by the browser version set in the User Agent.
A compatibility list can also be set, where before displaying the website it reads this list and checks if the website is in compatibility mode or not.
As of today, 2021, Microsoft no longer recommends the use of this meta tag and instead define the document as HTML5 with DOCTYPE.

However, when dealing with projects on versions of IE 7/8 and when dealing with errors or DEPRECIATED labels, it could be interesting to use it to evaluate results.
