For genymotion to work on linux, it needs the proprietary driver if you have an nvidia card. In my case, the driver I need is the nvidia-340 but they must have decided from their debian11 version to remove support for the nvidi-340 driver due to security flaws.
As a replacement for genymotion in mxlinux21/debian11, is there any alternative?
The best and fastest alternative it must be said is androvm:
A virtual machine running on virtualbox running android 4.1.1 with x86 hardware architecture. quite light, more than genymotion (although they are the ones behind this project) and much more than the turtle androidx86.
To move around the system you can install: Simple Control for Android. You show the buttons on the screen.
To install an apk that does not appear in the play store, you search for it in the following way in google, example:
and download the apk and install it, also in the same way you can install:
To update the application launcher and others.
You can download androvm from: http://minhluan.net/en/blog/androvm-install-android-on-windows-ubuntu-macos-with-virtualbox/
You can choose the option: AndroVM for tablet with gapp. Bring the play store installed although in my case I had to reinstall playstore.
Well that's all friends enjoy your new android on linux.
