I'm trying to install Electron, I've done it before but now when I do it (with sudo of course) it gets to a point where the console says:
node install.js
and there it is, nothing else happens... when I try to close the console it tells me that the process is running but it just never works, I had installed it before and it didn't take long...
This is the console output:
$ sudo npm install -g electron
/usr/local/bin/electron -> /usr/local/lib/node_modules/electron/cli.js
> [email protected] postinstall /usr/local/lib/node_modules/electron
> node install.js
According to this issue with exactly the same problem as you:

there are two branches to installelectron
Official pagenpm install electron--save-dev
)npm install electron-prebuilt --save-dev
)Any of the two works for you, but it
prebuilt
will be active until the end of 2016you can run
npm install electron --save-dev
For a better and clean installation I recommend
