How do I uninstall an old version of Java?

I have a terminal with Windows 10 that came pre-installed with an ancient version of Java: Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_04along with the fact that I don't need it, there is the issue of the security hole that implies leaving it installed. I have tried to eliminate it in several ways since with the "Add Remove Programs" option I have not succeeded:

uninstall tool

I have tried the following procedures without success:

  1. The Official Java Uninstall Tool

  2. JavaRa , is recommended in multiple forums and certainly automates many of the tasks related to Java maintenance .

  3. Wise Program Unninstaller , or any of the many uninstall tools.

    Finally I have achieved it, I turned to a Microsoft tool, which can be downloaded from this article . According to the documentation:

    Fix problems like:

    • Corrupted registry keys on 64-bit operating systems.
    • Corrupt registry keys that control update data.
    • New programs that cannot be installed.
    • Existing programs that cannot be uninstalled.
    • Programs that cannot be uninstalled using "Add/Remove Program"

    Works on:

    • Windows 10
    • Windows 8.1
    • windows 8 windows 7
    • 3
