Hello everyone and thanks in advance for this great community. My problem is, as my title indicates, that when I work on a local Git repository and open it in Visual Studio Code, I get the following warning:
The only solution I have found is to delete all the changes from the repository, if anyone knows any other, I will be very grateful. Greetings, thank you.
What this warning means is that in your working folder you have many (very many) files that are either not under version control, or have been modified but not committed.
Either situation is anomalous and should be avoided. If you make changes that you want to save under
git
, add them to the repository. If, on the other hand, they are files that you do not want to save ingit
, you can delete them. If it is about files that reappear without you being able to do anything to avoid it (for example, they are compilation results, etc.) or if it is about files that you do not want to keep ingit
but you do not want to delete either because your project needs them ( for example, a foldernode_modules
, or similar, with third-party libraries), you should use.gitignore
to tellgit
ignore them, that is, pay no attention to them.
