I am making an app with android studio, which obtains the coordinates and sends them to a database. I have a doubt, if I want to obtain the coordinates, the user does or does he have to have the location (GPS) activated, right? Or with the Wi-Fi or 3G network, can this be achieved in some way? Or does it have to have data and also the GPS? Thank you
There are several different ways to obtain the coordinates of the smartphone. They would be:
-GPS
-IP adress
-Sensor data from your device
-Information about items near your device, such as Wi-Fi hotspots, cellular service towers, and Bluetooth-enabled devices
But really, for me, the best thing is GPS, because I have already used it in other applications and it has given me good results.
I hope I was able to answer your question.
