I have been working with this server and old versions for a while, it is true that it has failed me from time to time for no apparent reason but restarting it was enough for it to run normally again. The thing is that yesterday I put "-Dclient.encoding.override=UTF-8" as a generic argument and when I restarted it for the changes to take effect, it started throwing me the following message (highlighted in yellow):
Let's see if someone can help me while I continue investigating too. If I solve it, I'll send you the answer.
1.- I have been looking at the file that the message says to display the error, just like yesterday afternoon I do not see anything and it is because it is not updated, it is seen that the error is also harming this file and it does not register anything since yesterday afternoon when I stopped it to restart it for the JVM argument to take effect.
The solution was to try to find the file in which what was touched in the administrative console was recorded, specifically what I touched was the jvm generic argument and it smelled like I had eaten the script, I didn't think that could be the problem but indeed it was. Thanks to the comment of @PaulVargas for locating the file where I should look if everything was correct, I saw that the hyphen was missing from the argument: Dclient.encoding.override=UTF-8.
The server.xml file to touch is located in the following path:
[ourlocalpath]\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\config\cells\por003016Node01Cell\nodes\por003016Node01\servers\server1 and once opened we look for: genericJvmArguments in the file, we verify that it contains the following: genericJvmArguments="-Dclient. encoding.override=UTF-8". As I say, the script was missing and it gave me the error that I presented above.
If something similar ever happens to you here you have the solution but to think that it could be due to any other type of addition that you make, I don't think it's a specific problem of the generic argument, I hope it can help someone with the same problem in the future problem that I Greetings.
