I have a doubt about how and what is the version of OpenSSl that I must install in Windows in order to later be able to create certificates.
I installed a version (openssl-1.0.2d-fips-2.0.10) found on source-force but it doesn't generate the files correctly for me. There is also the official page , but I don't know which one to install and how, so that when it comes to generating the keys and the .pem file, it works.
I generated some environment variables that point to the folder where I unzipped the downloaded file, I don't know if it's the right way.
EDIT: to expand details.
This was the way I installed the version of openssl I mentioned: in the folder created to put the files, take the files from the bin folder to the main folder. From there, create two environment variables, one in user variables pointing to the openssl folder. Create another variable in " system variables , adding it to path, also pointing to openssl. If I think it doesn't work it's because the files generated with openssl req -x509 -new -nodes -key rootCA.key -sha256 -days 1024 -out rootCA.pem
it generate files without a key. When I say key it means they don't have the logo, or whatever call the mark as the following capture, which I obtained from an example of a key or certificate. I hope with this I will explain myself so that you can help me. Thank you.
I got the binaries for Windows from the following page: https://wiki.openssl.org/index.php/Binaries There are several options, I chose the first one. If it doesn't work, you can try the following options. Install in C/: but outside the directory where the Windows files are, following the advice of a tutorial. Also create the environment variables pointing to the generated folder. To test if I installed correctly, you put openssl in the console, and it should enter OPENSSL. What I am no longer clear about is how to import the certificates you generate, because my files are not like the ones you show. I hope it helps you, if so, the culprit and the one you should thank is @AlvaroMontoro who communicated your question to me.
