well my question is if the priority tag in Google XML Sitemaps still has any value? Is it necessary to add or can we Omit?

<priority>1.00</priority>

Does my Client's second website have an updated XML sitemap with all pages with a priority tag of 100%? Well my question is if I change the priority of some of the pages to 80% or 60%. Would it hurt those pages Ranking or any visit?
One last question, this label can be omitted, or it is necessary to use it, on the site the urls are fixed, there are no new urls, so that an analysis is carried out by the search engines every month.
<!--<changefreq>monthly</changefreq>-->
Answer to your question (explanation).
The priority of this
URL
relative to othersURL
on your site. Valid values are from0.0
to1.0
. This value does not affect how your pages compare to those of other sites; it just lets search engines know which pages you find most important to crawlers.The default priority of a page is
0.5
.Keep in mind that the priority you assign to a page will not affect the position of your
URL
pages on a search engine results page. Search engines can use this information when selecting among thoseURL
on the same site, so you can use this tag to increase the likelihood that your most important pages will be present in a search index.Also, keep in mind that assigning a high priority to everyone
URL
on your site isn't likely to help you. Since the priority is relative, it is only used to select between the onesURL
on your site.The use of the tag
<priority>
and<changefreq>
are Optional, you can check it in the linked link .
