I am developing a web application with ASP.NET MVC, C# and ADO.NET for the connection with the SQL Server 2012 database. I have done this development on a PC and now I have copied the project to another PC, as well as the base I have also restored it on the second PC, I already configured the ODBC in the same way as on the original PC, however when compiling the project it shows me the following error:
Network related or instance specific error while setting a connection to the SQL Server. The server was not found or the server was not accessible. Check that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to support remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error finding the specified server or instance)
Has anyone done something similar? What additional configurations should I do?
Check if the name of the SQL instance is exactly the same as the one you had on the other PC, if it is the same, check if at the time of creating the connection you do not have the IP address instead of the name of the machine and the instance.
